About the Extract:   Pure turmeric CO2 extract, organically grown and distilled. Besides its incredible aroma, the therapeutic value of turmeric is widely used these days. It is both a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent. This makes it an excellent choice for arthritis-care formulas, skincare recipes, and virtually any application where these two properties are guiding your essential oil selection. Turmeric extracts have become a popular anti-aging supplement, as inflammation is considered one of the cornerstones of the aging process.

With this CO2 extract, all of the lipophilic (oil-friendly) compounds are distilled from the turmeric root. It is well known that turmeric spice powder capsules are not very well absorbed, because most of the 'medicinal' constituents are oil-soluble. Turmeric root has been used medicinally for thousands of years, also known as "Indian Saffron".

Aroma:  Full-bodied, herbal aroma, very like the plant 

Caution:  Please note that the CO2 oil is very potent, and should be diluted before use. Turmeric essential oil is a known photosensitizer. This will make the skin more sensitive to UV light. If applying to skin that will be exposed to sunlight within the following 48 hours, keep the dilution to 1% or less. 

Other insights:  To be used at VERY low concentrations with a carrier or your blends - the distiller recommends .1% to .3% of the total formula.
