About the Oil: Distilled from the roots of large, tropical grass, Vetiver is known as the 'oil of tranquility. It is a very thick oil that mellows with age. It is an excellent fixative in perfume blends, and useful for acne and dry skin - similar to Patchouli in many ways. Very tenacious, a little goes a long way.
Vetiver essential oil has an earthy aroma, some say similar to that of Patchouli with a touch of Lemon. It is a thick amber liquid with a scent that, also like Patchouli, improves with age. The essential oil is distilled from the roots of a tall densely tufted perennial grass. An important base-note perfume constituent, the oil provides a rich and tenacious characteristic that serves as a fixative for Oriental blends.
Use: Vetiver essential oil has been traditionally used as a tonic for the immune system, calming over-excitation, and for warming and reducing inflammation in joints.
