About the Oil: Pure lavender essential oil, steam distilled from the flowering tops of plants naturally grown in the high elevation region of France, a region known for the world's most fragrant lavenders. Lavender is grown at high altitudes naturally produces more linalool, a component found to reduce stress and improve sleep. This is an especially nice oil, with a beautiful, complex aroma and a top aromatic pick. Lavender essential oil is highly regarded for its relaxing effect on the nervous system, with an overall balancing effect on the mind and emotions.
Lavender is the most versatile aromatic oil used in aromatherapy today, often called 'a medicine chest in a bottle. No wonder it is suggested for inclusion in every aromatherapy kit. It is also one of the few essential oils that can be safely applied neat (without dilution) in all situations, another notable exception being Roman chamomile.
